Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra

Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra Video Clips.

In an archive performance from the early 1980s, the award-winning Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra (directed by Mike Beaumont) plays John Tatgenhorst's composition "Pressure Cooker" which owes more than a passing nod to the last part of Bill Reddie's "Channel One Suite", with the theme from "Wonder Woman" thrown in for good measure. Grumpy teenager Pete Cater plays drums and is clearly not terribly happy. Asked to recall this recently he said, "They made us do it over and over again and what got transmitted was about the seventh run at it, and in that hot TV studio I was struggling to hang on to my sticks". So there. Now you know. Pete Caters 2010 tour kicks off at Dartford on Feb 5th. For tickets call 01322 220000
